So today's screening was a bit of a disaster... They were not on schedule and they didn't tell me that so half an hour before my film was supposed to start I went around in my tux got out of my shy mode and sorted nine or so people to watch it... Then they all left cause they couldn't wait around for an extra half hour because of the messed up schedule. So since I was stressed and worrying about not having an audience I said to the group screening their movie in my original time slot that if I watched theirs they had to sit through mine so I had an audience. So in a 12 seated room four people viewed my films world premiere. Ha ha ha.... and they were from Brazil, didn't get the jokes and didn't laugh once. and while I was disappointed they didn't get my humour I was very pleased when one Lady, the actress of the film before, said to me that my film was going to give her nightmares. I said "Thank you so much!". lol!

Back to the hotel to ice my feet and plan for day four. I was talking to my friend Arun today about how slack I've been leaving early and turning up in my own good time but she said I wasn't being slack at all since I have been proactive the whole time hitting the booths and pavilion's and signing up for a dozen different workshops. Every time I do a workshop I get inspired to get into the pre-production for my next projects immediately and I got out of there barely in time before my feet started giving out again.
Tomorrow is a big day anyway. I get to see my friend Xando's film "Forget", screen Valley of the Succubus and then later in the afternoon there's a pitching workshop at the American pavilion. If you go to Cannes it pays to sign up for that as it includes extra workshops that the Short film Corner don't offer and they serve free soda's all day, plus private cocktail parties etc. They also do a killer iced Mocha, my latest favorite thing in humid Cannes.
If you get the early bird membership in April it costs only $100 nzd unlike the $200 I had to pay for a late registration but already it's been paying off with the leads and info I'm getting, plus it's a nice retreat from the insanity of the Palais.
Took my time walking to the bus so I could take some tourist snaps.

Finally at Cannes proper all secure in the Kyriad hotel 40 minutes from the CBD. Gotta suss out the buses cause I can't walk that far every day. Work starts in a few hours.
Drama's, stress's and swollen feet.... let's just leave it at that and I'll fill in the blanks another time. ha ha! I think one thing I have learn't is that no matter how stressed you are if your are nice to people and ask respectfully for help even if they don't understand you they will try. Lot's of heroes have saved me on the streets of Paris and Cannes and in Paris most people don't smile and are depressed it seems but I just smile at them and treat them all like blessing on my journey they seem to reflect that back. Sprayed my feet with my witch-hazel and the swelling has gone down now and had two baths in Paris to fix the Fibriomayalgia pain and now the aches are going too!
