Back to the hotel to ice my feet and plan for day four. I was talking to my friend Arun today about how slack I've been leaving early and turning up in my own good time but she said I wasn't being slack at all since I have been proactive the whole time hitting the booths and pavilion's and signing up for a dozen different workshops. Every time I do a workshop I get inspired to get into the pre-production for my next projects immediately and I got out of there barely in time before my feet started giving out again.
Tomorrow is a big day anyway. I get to see my friend Xando's film "Forget", screen Valley of the Succubus and then later in the afternoon there's a pitching workshop at the American pavilion. If you go to Cannes it pays to sign up for that as it includes extra workshops that the Short film Corner don't offer and they serve free soda's all day, plus private cocktail parties etc. They also do a killer iced Mocha, my latest favorite thing in humid Cannes.
If you get the early bird membership in April it costs only $100 nzd unlike the $200 I had to pay for a late registration but already it's been paying off with the leads and info I'm getting, plus it's a nice retreat from the insanity of the Palais.
Took my time walking to the bus so I could take some tourist snaps.
